THE KIMBERLEY VINTAGE TRAM

Kimberley is the only South African town with an operational tramway system, dating back to the diamond rush era. Set up by the Victoria Tramways Company, it transported workers to the Big Hole when the diamond trade was booming. Today, it's mainly used by tourists. The tour lasts around 20 minutes, taking in the mine shaft, the authentic West End bar and the Big Hole. A trip back to the ^20th century on the original wooden seats!
