MUONG THANH BRIDGE (BAILEY BRIDGE)

It is 40 meters long and 5 meters wide, spanning the Nâm Rôm River. It was a temporary structure built in France, transported and assembled on site at the end of 1953, as part of the work to develop the French system on the plain of Diên Biên Phu. The purpose was to allow the passage of 18-ton tanks. After the victory of May 7, 1954, the soldiers of the Vietnamese People's Army crossed the bridge and seized the French headquarters.
