QUYNH LÂM PAGODA

The tower of the very beautiful Quynh Lam pagoda rises on the top of a hill, in a wooded site, overlooking the calm waters of a lake. The foundation date of the pagoda is very old and would go back to the 6th or even^5th century. From the 14th century, the pagoda, where the influence of the Truc Lâm sect is exerted, asserts itself as an important center of Buddhism for the whole country. The stupa is 10 meters high and was built to honor the memory of the monk Chan Nguyen (1647-1726). The festivities of the pagoda take place between the^1st and^4th day of the^2nd lunar month.
