Located 7 km southwest of Huê, Thuy Xuân is the largest incense-making village in the area.

Located 7 km south-west of Huê, Thuy Xuân is the largest village in the area specializing in incense manufacture. The locals have been cultivating this artisanal tradition for over a hundred years. To make incense, they carefully select five essences (cinnamon, cardamom, clove, aniseed and eucalyptus) which are mixed with water. The resulting paste is coated around bamboo sticks, which are then dried in the sun.
