The Société Française des Amis de Saint Jacques de Compostelle is a cultural association based in Paris. Founded in 1950, it is the oldest of all French and European pilgrimage associations. Its aim is to recreate the routes taken by pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela since the Middle Ages. In particular, the association has created the Credencial, or "pilgrim's passport", required to travel to Compostela and obtain the Compostela at the end of the pilgrimage. Les Amis de Saint Jacques also organizes activities such as walks and photo competitions.
