Roman wall retaining its entire perimeter, with a walkway serving as a watchtower and pedestrian ring road
Built between the 3rd and 4th centuries, the wall is 2,266 m long, 6 m thick and 10 m high. Its parapet walk serves both as a watchtower over the town and as a pedestrian ring road. The walk continues under the arcades of the Plaza do Campo with its baroque fountain. To learn more about the history of the wall, we recommend a visit to the museum dedicated to it, located in the tourist office. It is the only Roman wall to have preserved its entire perimeter and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000.

La muraille est sans doute le monument emblématique de Lugo. Il faut son tour pour avoir les meilleures vues de la vieille ville et pour se rendre compte de son ampleur. Elle est en plus Patrimoine Mondiale de l'Unesco.

Un point de vu à ne pas manquer pour observer le vieux centre de Lugo. Très bien aménagé, avec des lumières qui permettent de faire des promenades nocturnes. Un ascenseur a été installé récemment pour les personnes à mobilité réduite. Un de mes meilleurs souvenirs de Lugo!

Très belle muraille, très bien conservée. Les habitants se baladent dessus et font même leur footing ! quelle belle manière de cohabiter avec son patrimoine !

La découverte des murailles lorsque l'on arrive en voiture est impressionnante et déroutante. Elles s'étendent sur plusieurs kilomètres et témoignent, s'il le fallait encore , du gigantisme des constructions romaines.
