A good address to get to know the maritime heritage of Cantabria.
The rooms are dark and grey, but the didactic content is interesting. As you enter, you are struck by the enormous cetacean skeleton (100 tons, 24.50 m long) floating in the air: the specimen came ashore on the Sardinero beach last century. Among the aquariums and the marine biology section are other rare specimens, such as a two-headed sardine. There's also a small laboratory dating from 1914, jealously guarded behind a glass case.
