CASTILLO DE SANTA ANA
Monument transformed into a lighthouse with a splendid view of the city and the sea presenting temporary exhibitions
Close to the Santa María church, the Castillo Faro was the town's main defense. Built in the 13th century, the monument was not converted into a lighthouse until the 19th century. Its defensive wall was used in 1814 against French attacks. From here, you have a splendid view of the town and the sea. Inside, you'll discover temporary exhibitions. Nero's Billionaire is also on display. It was discovered in Otañes and dates back to the year 61. The milestone indicated the distance (mile by mile) between Otañes and Puerto de las Muñecas.
