FIESTAS DE SAN BERNABÉ

Logroño's patron saint's day, commemorating the 1521 victory over the troops of the French general André de Foix. It is said that the people of Logroño survived the siege by eating bread, fish caught in the Ebro River, and drinking the wine stored in the wineries of the area. That is why every year a tasting of bread, wine and fish is offered at the foot of the Revellín gate, built in the sixteenth century in memory of the victory. There are also processions, folkloric parades and bullfighting events.
