The Confrérie du couteau is the only French association to own a knife, recognizable by its line.

In 1993, a brotherhood of knife professionals and enthusiasts was created. One of its aims is to create a Thiers knife. Three distinctive signs identify the Thiers knife® are its line, the name on the blade (manufacturer and Thiers®) and the logotype. This, as you may have guessed, is to prevent counterfeiting! The only French and European association to own a knife, the Confrérie du couteau Le Thiers® brings together knife enthusiasts, professional and otherwise, united by their love of a craft and a region.
