SANTA CRUZ MUSEUM

The museum occupies the hospital building, which was founded in the th century by Cardinal Mendoza. Construction forms a Greek cross and features features unique to the Renaissance. The main door, the staircase and the cloister are particularly interesting. Tapestries, paintings and medieval and Renaissance sculptures are remarkable. Works by Greco are also exhibited. The most important is the Ascensión altarpiece of 1613. There are also Armures'armor, armor pieces and traditional swords.
