This th century synagogue, built in the heart of the Jewish quarter, is the oldest and largest of the eight in the city. She was consecrated as a church in 1405 by the military order of Calatrava. It was restored to make it its original beauty. Its arches are finely decorated and the plateresque altarpiece can be admired in the large chapel.

très originale
C'est devenue une église et pourtant tout à l'intérieur parle d'un rite différent. Et même doublement différent car si le culte y était judaïque, les architectes étaient mauresques ! Un magnifique mélange très original qui témoigne de la diversité culturelle de Tolède.

La ville de Tolède a la particularité d'avoir accueillir les trois religions monoteistes en même temps. Alors, il est possible de trouver dans ses rues des églises, des mezquites et des synagoges, comme la Synagoge de Santa Maria la Blanca. Sa décoration, son arquitecture, sa lumière et la tranquilité à l'intérieur font indispensable la visite à cette monument religieux.
