Museum presenting a remarkable and comprehensive exhibition on the different periods of Victor Vasarely's career.
Hungarian-born painter Victor Vasarely (1906-1997) was the leader and creator of the kinetic movement, also known as Op Art, and donated his works (paintings, sculptures, advertising graphics, etc.) to the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts. Born in Pécs, the artist moved to Paris in 1930, where, in parallel with his advertising work, he undertook research into axonometric perspective and linear derivations. A remarkable and comprehensive exhibition covering the different periods of his career.

The Vasarely Museum is located in Budapest, occupying part of the 18th-century Zichy Palace. Here you'll discover a permanent exhibition of Victor Vasarely's works, from the first drawing circle in Budapest to op-art based on kinetic and gestalt principles. This collection of over 400 of the artist's works is presented in the rooms on the first floor and in the exhibition space on all three floors. The exhibition follows the artist's work chronologically. "The Vasarely Illusion" is one of the major focal points. Temporary exhibitions also feature works (paintings, sculptures, etc.) by Hungarian and foreign artists. Various types of tours (for children, schoolchildren and adults) are available to explore the museum. There's also a workshop where you can design your own works, inspired by the exhibitions on display. To make your special events unique and unforgettable (birthdays), the museum organizes a variety of themed programs. You can choose between deceptive illusions, the immobile, treasure hunts, timeless entertainment... A great cultural address!
