Amphitheater of the Military City in Budapest, a remarkable site steeped in history.
The amphitheater of the military city (built by the Romans around 145) could welcome between 10 000 and 15 000 people. Of elliptical shape, it was used for the military exercises of the legions posted here, in Aquincum. Then it was used for the defense of almost all the occupants who followed, from the Avars to the Hungarians. The wall could have been dedicated to Nemesis, the goddess of games (inscriptions abound in this sense). Today, the ruins are used for night squats...
