Stuccoes, twisted columns, red carpet and Rococo debauchery for this 19th century coffee gem, now an annex of a luxury hotel.
This debauchery of stucco, marble, gilding and the incredible twisted columns make New York the most flamboyant of the great pesto coffees. Incubator of Magyar culture at the end of the 19th century, it was a refuge for journalists and writers. Damaged during the Second World War, it was abandoned during communism, suspected of being a home for intellectuals. Since 2006, attached to a luxury group, the Palace (now a hotel) and its café are like new but the splendour, in some places almost hallucinating, of coffee are still there.

Cadre superbe, service au top, plats excellents. L'addition n'est pas donnée mais les petits budgets peuvent s'en sortir en choisissant un plat simple et en se passant des alcools (vraiment chers). Ce resto mérite d'être vu moyennant une petite entorse au porte monnaie.

Prix décerné pour le plus beau café du monde, je ne voulais pas rater ça. J'ai réservé sur internet pour un verre à 11h un dimanche matin (beaucoup de créneaux étaient déjà pris et le but était surtout de pouvoir admirer le café sans faire la queue et sans y manger, car j'avais entendu que les prix étaient chers pour la qualité). Cette petite pause dans la matinée a été parfaite. Nous avons pu profiter du cadre qui vaut le détour.

ON DIT QUE C'EST LE PLUS BEAU CAFÉ DU MONDE/ IL EST TOUT SIMPLEMENT MAGNIFIQUE EN FERMANT LES YEUX ON SE RETROUVE DANS LE FASTE DE LA BELLE EPOQUE. UN PLAFOND DATANT DU 9 EME SIÈCLE DES DORURES MAGNIFIQUES UN ORCHESTRE JOUANT DE LA MUSIQUE ET LA CERISE SUR LE GÂTEAU DE MERVEILLEUSES PÂTISSERIES

Un must lors d'un séjour à Pest! Allez-y prendre simplement un café, un cappuccino ou autre pour jouir du décor, de l'atmosphère et de la qualité du service. Et lorsqu'un orchestre y joue, c'est encore plus magique.
