Located at the end of the Chain Bridge (Lánchíd) and inaugurated in 1870, the funicular served as public transportation for the employees working at the castle. Since its renovation in 1986, the funicular has been powered by electricity instead of steam, but its cars have not aged at all. At the top, at the arrival, you will find benches to sit and admire the perspective of the Chain Bridge, the Gresham Palace and the Saint-Etienne Basilica... Many stairs (as well as the bus 16) allow you to reach the castle hill.

FACE AU PONT DE CHAIN ON A PRIS LE FUNICULAIRE QUI NOUA A PERMIS D’ACCÉDER AU QUARTIER HAUT DE BUDA. LES POINTS DE VUE SUR LE QUARTIER DE PEST DU FUNICULAIRE SONT MAGNIFIQUE ET LE PRIX DE LA MONTÉE EST TRÈS ABORDABLE

Un funiculaire typique
Ce funiculaire permet de rejoindre facilement le haut de la colline du château. Il propose un joli panorama sur le Danube. Il a gardé son architecture ancienne, ce qui lui donne un côté rustique.
Malheureusement, il y a un peu d'attente pour prendre le funiculaire.
