The covered market of Hania was built in 1911 and inaugurated by Elefterios Venizelos himself in 1913, on the occasion of the events that took place that year to celebrate the annexation of Crete to Greece. The market is well worth a visit, although it has lost some of its charm with the installation of many tourist shops. You can still buy fish, cheese, spices, and Cretan souvenirs. The weather is cool, which is nice for lunch or a stroll.

Très jolie halle où il est agréable de flâner. On y trouve des commerces alimentaires et boutiques remplis de souvenirs à rapporter (objets purement touristiques ou plus typique du genre miel, olives, confiseries, alcool ...)

Ce marché vaut le détour... il faut faire le tri car nombreuses boutiques touristiques mais on a des commerçants interessants avec de bons produits. Nous avons déjeuné sur place et nous avons testé la vraie cuisine locale notamment des dakos. (meze crétois constitué d'une tranche de pain garnie de tomates hachées et de fromage feta avec des herbes telles origan séché). On s'est régalés!!!

La Crète c'est avant tout du tourisme ! pas Étonnant donc de voir dans ce marché des "boutiques à touristes" ! Mais pas que ! Il reste des étals de produits locaux avec des vrais producteurs locaux !

Ce marché vaut le détour et de la curiosité pour y dénicher les bons produits...

Un marché complètement dénaturé. Subsistent 3 à 4 étals poissons, viandes et fruits légumes. Ce marché s'est transformé en une vaste boutique à touristes sans aucune originalité.
