Municipal gallery of Hania with a collection of contemporary art organizing thematic exhibitions.

The Municipal Gallery of Hania is housed in a three-storey neoclassical building dating from 1910, a characteristic example of industrial architecture of that period. The gallery, which is particularly well managed, organizes rich and interesting thematic temporary exhibitions. The permanent collection of contemporary art presents works by Cretan and Greek artists in an ultramodern setting. A visit that is worthwhile to see another aspect, modern and dynamic, of Hania, beyond its historical heritage.
