Port of Agios Nikolaos, a beautiful address for a night walk.

Because of its charm and location, it is the real centre of the city. Protected by the islands of Agion Panton, serving as natural ramparts both against invaders and against winds that can be powerful, during the Venetian period 25 galleys could dock there, which was considerable for that time. It is very small and surrounded by pretty houses, mostly hotels and restaurants. A walk on the port Agios Nikolaos invites you on a tour of the life of fishermen who work, and their meeting.

On the port, you will find shipping company buildings that will take you for 4 hours cruises to walk along the coast to the island of Spynalonga (the island of Leprous) or make a small one hour climbing a visit. You will go along the island of Cricket (typical Cretan goats), you will also see the cave of red Beard. Do not hesitate to make this walk, you will spend a pleasant day.
