PANAGIA VREFOTROFOS CHURCH
Church with a tomb of a Venetian nobleman in the heart of the city of Agios Nikolaos.
This stone church of modest dimensions, dedicated to Panagia Vrefotrofos (Virgin Nurse), is located in the heart of the city. If the church was built in the 12th century, it was during the Venetian occupation that its interior was decorated with particularly interesting frescoes, testimony to the mural paintings of the 13th and 14th centuries. Inside the building you can also see the tomb of a Venetian nobleman with a Latin inscription dated 1602.
