Luxurious royal residence, a place of worship in Knossos.
To the northwest of the palace of Knossos stands a luxurious building. It is assumed that it was the residence of a member of the aristocracy or high religious hierarchy of the 14th century B.C. A stone throne was found there, which was evidently placed in the niche at the end of it. This niche was isolated by steps and columns and communicated with the upper floor by means of a day well. This particular arrangement suggests that the places where the niche was located were intended for worship.
