A 927-meter-high peak overlooking the village of Saurier, it offers one of the finest panoramic views in the Pays d'Issoire.

Overlooking the village of Saurier, the volcanic peak of Brionnet offers one of the most beautiful panoramas in the Pays d'Issoire. In fact, it's often a local favorite! At an altitude of 927 metres, you can see the Sancy massif, the Courgoul gorges and the couzes. The adjacent Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel chapel is built into the side of a cliff, on top of basalt organs (a geological formation). A 9.5 km hike leads from the village of Saurier to the Pic de Brionnet. Alternatively, you can drive up and walk the remaining hundreds of metres. Good to know: it's uphill!
