HISTORICAL SITES

The main historical sites that date back to the Roman and Byzantine times are the Roman theater, the remains of the city of Cillium whose arch is still standing and the tomb of Falvios and his children well maintained. These are monuments that testify to the development and stability experienced by the city during these distant times. In the^5th century, Kasserine was the favorite place of Saint Augustine. He had a monastery built there, where Prince Solomon died in 544 while fighting against the Berbers.
