Every Sunday, Sousse hosts a market where the inhabitants of the Tunisian Sahel converge. Beware, you will not find camels for sale in this market falsely called by many guides "the camel souk" (you will only find them in the South, especially in the animal market of Douz). Ask for the "Sunday souk" instead, you'll have better luck getting into this charming local market. Some products are not worth buying at the souk, which are sometimes sold here more expensive than elsewhere, so don't hesitate to compare prices.
