CHETOU MUSEUM

It is a cooperation between Germans and Tunisians that allowed the construction of this museum. It tells the ancient history of the country and the origin of marble quarries and their mode of exploitation. The museum is composed of 4 large rooms. The visit begins on the left side of the entrance, it follows a circuit in loop: Geology and Protohistory of the region of Chemtou; Marble of Chemtou; Chemtou: the Colony of Simitthus. The collection presented in the museum comes from the excavations carried out on the site of Chemtou as well as from nearby sites. Very interesting.
