Built in the district of Halfaouine in 1814 by Youssef Saheb At Tabâa, the minister of the Husseinite bey Hammouda Pasha, it is also marked by Italian influences. The foundations are built using stones from the ruins of Carthage. The minaret is octagonal in shape. Its coronation was left unfinished at the death of Saheb At Tabâa, and was recently completed in 1970. The mosque has two small necropolises. One houses the tomb of its founder, the other the tomb of the master builder and the famous historian Ibn Abi Dhiaf.
