The líceum is one of the oldest schools in Hungary, a beautiful building with a baroque, rococo and Regency style. There is a sumptuous library with 130 000 volumes in 34 different languages, manuscripts and very rare books. Its walls are decorated with sculpted woodwork with shelves on two floors; its ceiling is decorated with magnificent frescoes in the eye of two centuries ago. The líceum also has an observatory on the 6 th floor of the tower, which dates back to 1776. an exhibition of apparatus and measuring instruments is presented there and a Eddy clock. The famous camera obscura of 1776, which still works (like a film without film), is on the 9 th floor of the tower, while on the 8 th floor a panoramic terrace offers an incomparable view over the whole city.
