The brand was registered in 1810. For more than two centuries, Arbalète has distinguished itself as the oldest factory to perpetuate the artisanal manufacture of the Laguiole knife in France. Its craftsman-couteliers carve, assemble, adjust and polish in the purest tradition, earning them the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) label in 2013. They have also been awarded the Maître artisan en métier d'art distinction. The factory is also the only company to have been awarded the Origine France Garantie label for its Laguiole knife.
