FÊTE DE LA MYRTILLE

Every 15th of August, blueberries and bilberries are honoured in Sauvain and at the Col du Béal. The first vocation of this festival was to allow the landowners to live from the collection of the blueberry, true black gold of these mountains of Livradois-Forez. Often, for the farmers, this small fruit was a complement to their income. Today, the festive side is added to the event: several thousands of people come to taste the blueberries, but also to discover many other local products based on blueberries.
