MUSEO HISTORICO JUAN SANTAMARÍA

This beautiful history museum, built in the old prison, is named after the young national hero. The museum is mainly dedicated to the armed conflicts of 1856-1857 against the American invader William Walker, and also relates the history of the building and that of Costa Rica in its 7 permanent exhibition rooms. Around the patio, there are two temporary exhibition rooms and an auditorium that is very popular with the locals. There is also a café, Puntalitos de Manuela.
