Butterfly collection in a lush setting, located about 15 minutes from downtown San Jose
Located 15 minutes from the center of San José, this garden is home to about 20 different species of butterflies. On the banks of the Rio Torres, it is one of the last forest bastions in the area, opened in 1992. Sol Carballo, a dancer by profession, wanted to maintain the legacy of her father, who taught her to cherish the nature that surrounds her. The butterflies compete in beauty and the staff is extremely friendly. You can continue the visit on a forest trail.
