FESTIVAL DE LA LUZ

The Festival de la Luz ("Festival of Lights") really marks the beginning of the Christmas holidays. It is a highly anticipated event for the Ticos and is held in the capital city of San José. The festivities revolve around the contest to elect the most beautiful illuminations, the floats are dressed in their most beautiful attire and concerts are held throughout the city.
