This organization is a promotional platform that aims to develop tourism in rural areas to generate new sources of income for local populations, and to give them the means to preserve their cultural and natural heritage, with a view to sustainable development and environmental preservation. The national network brings together about 100 organizations working throughout the country. Several hostels are affiliated with Cooprena (an acronym for Cooperative Consortium National Ecotourism Network).
