This museum was designed as a tribute to the explorers of the Far East. It was built on the very site where the first Portuguese traders set foot on land. The museum's architecture, inspired by the sails of a ship, evokes a boat anchored at the entrance to the port. Exhibits include scale models of ships, navigation and fishing techniques. You can also follow the voyages of Zheng He, a Ming-era admiral who explored the east coast of Africa, the Persian Gulf and India. The museum features a pleasant bar on the waterfront.
