Halfway between Fuzhou and Quanzhou, Putian is located in the centre of the Fujian province on the west coast of the Taiwan Strait. The area has more than 150 islets and 3 gulfs. Urbanization continues to talent this city: the traditional crooked roofs disappear between buildings and hotels. Although the city does not attract many Western visitors, it remains a very tourist area for the Chinese. Putian is indeed one of the cradles of overseas Chinese who often return to the region. For those who have a little time, we recommend you stop a day in Putian to discover the beautiful island of Meizhou and its temple dedicated to Mazu, the goddess of the Sea.
