Located 77 km from Fuzhou, Xuefeng Temple, built under the Tang in 870, is one of Fujian's most important Buddhist initiation sites. Founded by Buddhist master Xuefeng Yicun, it is a historic center of Chan (Zen) Buddhism in China. Many ancient structures have been built around this sacred place of worship over the centuries, testifying to its spiritual importance. Perched in the mountains, the temple blends harmoniously with nature, offering spectacular panoramic views over the hills. Its pavilions and gardens are charming.
