At the top of a hill, opposite Gorropu Gorge, stands the "white" nursery. Its unique color stems from the quality of the stone used, the white limestone. At its side, limestone huts attest to the presence of a former village. The Mereu nursery is not only famous for its tholos (faux dome) in perfect condition but also for its exceptional situation. It overlooks Gorropu Gorge, Europe's deepest canyon, and dominates the Sas Baddes Forest, one of the most recent primary forests in the Mediterranean basin.
