Imposing and majestic cathedral with 2 towers and 4 granite columns

Imposing and majestic, the cathedral dominates the tree-lined square of the same name. It was built in the 19th century when Nuoro was elevated to the rank of bishopric. The foundation stone was laid in 1835 and it took 20 years to complete the cathedral. Two towers frame the building, while four granite columns support the frontispiece. The interior consists of a central nave framed by three chapels connected by arches.
