Bastion with an impressive staircase and a panoramic terrace, an emblematic monument of Cagliari.
This emblematic monument of Cagliari is part of recent history. It was built in white limestone between 1899 and 1920 to connect the upper and lower parts of the town. Its monumental staircase and its panoramic terrace offer a superb view of the city. It is one of the most representative examples of the work undertaken at the end of the 19th century by Ottone Bacaredda to modernise the city. Please note that during our last visit, the elevators to the upper part of the building were out of order.

(juin 2011)
only one word: exceptional! A magnificent view of the entire city! This bastion that connects the lower town with the castle is one of the symbols of the town of Cagliari. A' do not miss to enjoy the view and a drink in the charming busy bars in the summer evenings by the " cagliaritani" too! And I add, ideal for lovers because the atmosphere is very romantic especially at sunset!
