Monumental rock in the shape of an elephant located on the road to Sedini
A few kilometres from Castelsardo, on the road to Sedini, stands a monumental rock in the shape of an elephant. In profile, the resemblance is disturbing. The image is also used in many tourist brochures to praise the charms of the region. Cavities have been made at the base of this trachyte rock. It is assumed that they were supposed to serve as tombs 2,000 or 3,000 years ago. In some of these niches one can see bull horns carved into the stone as a tribute to the bull god worshipped at that time.

Etonnant, surprenant, à voir absolument
Une belle découverte, peu d'informations sur place mais avec une rapide recherche sur internet, on en a pour notre curiosité. Bel édifice en bord de route, possibilité de se parquer à proximité. Accès gratuit et vue sur des nuraghes aux environs

Restaurant traditionnel Sarde à l’ambiance familiale. Personnel accueillant et agréable. Le plus, une très belle terrasse avec vue dégagée sur la mer et le joli village de Castelsardo. Nous avons passé une jolie soirée en famille.

C'est un site à découvrir tant il est impressionnant de voir ce que la nature a pu sculpter au fil des années. C'est un beau point de vue avec le paysage et la mer au loin. Attention tout de même, c'est au bord d'une route passante.
