Monumental rock in the shape of an elephant located on the road to Sedini

A few kilometres from Castelsardo, on the road to Sedini, stands a monumental rock in the shape of an elephant. In profile, the resemblance is disturbing. The image is also used in many tourist brochures to praise the charms of the region. Cavities have been made at the base of this trachyte rock. It is assumed that they were supposed to serve as tombs 2,000 or 3,000 years ago. In some of these niches one can see bull horns carved into the stone as a tribute to the bull god worshipped at that time.

tres joli cadre avec belle vue...mais...salle bruyante avec l'impression d'un resto"usine"...plats corrects..sans plus..vin au verre mediocre et cher....rapport qualite prix tres moyen...surfait...dommage
