Founded in 1856, the South Australian Museum is a five-story history and natural history museum. It houses the world's largest collection of objects related to Australia's Aboriginal culture, with over 3,000 objects on display. The Biodiversity Gallery features South Australia's marine and terrestrial wildlife, with touch screens and other interactive features. Other galleries feature exhibits on world mammals, Pacific cultures, opalized fossils, megafauna, minerals and ancient Egypt.
