In the south, it includes rugged coastlines, beaches, rocky platforms and windswept moors. In the north, there are tall forests, gullies, waterfalls and lakes. The area is criss-crossed by numerous hiking trails, including the Great Ocean Walk, which links Apollo Bay to the 12 Apostles. Blanket Bay, Aire River and Johanna are among the main camping areas. At the southern end, the Cape Otway lighthouse is a much-visited tourist attraction.
