The Esplanade Hotel, nicknamed "The Espy", has been a mainstay of the local music scene since 1878. Located in St Kilda, this historic establishment overlooks Port Phillip Bay. The 4-storey hotel reopened in 2018 with 3 stages dedicated to live music and several bars and restaurants. The iconic Gershwin Room has hosted artists such as Paul Kelly and served as the set for the RocKwiz TV show. In 2022, The Espy was acquired by Australian Venue Co. strengthening its place in Melbourne's cultural landscape.
