Public Transport Victoria covers the city's public transport network (buses, trains and streetcars). Outside the Free Tram Zone, a valid ticket (Myki card) is required. It can be purchased at the tourist office, at the PTV Hub at Southern Cross Station, at train stations (ticket office or machine), at a 7-Eleven Convenience Store, by phone (✆ 1800 800 007) or online (www.ptv.vic.gov.au).

Airline and services

The fastest connection between Melbourne city center and Melbourne airport is with the SkyBus shuttle bus (every 10-15 min, journey time 30-35 min, price one-way AU$ 23.90, round trip AU$ 40).
By car, to leave/access Melbourne airport via Tullamarine Freeway, you need a CityLink pass (the route is tolled). However, you can avoid these charges by taking the Western Ring Road (M80).

EAST LINK

The electronic tolling site for a portion of Melbourne's tolled sections. The sections managed by Eastlink connect the Monash, Eastern, Frankston Freeways and Peninsula Link Freeway. Note that EastLink Passes only provide access to the EastLink network. A calculator on the operator's website allows you to find out the cost of your trip. To use both EastLink and CityLink, you need a Melbourne Pass. If you are confused about all the details, the East Link website or the tourist office will be able to help you.

The electronic toll site for part of Melbourne's toll sections, 22 km distributed between Southern and Western Links. They connect Tullamarine Freeway, West Gate Freeway and Monash Freeway. For unlimited day trips, choose the 24-Hour Pass. A calculator on the operator site allows you to know the cost of your trip. Note that the Passes Pass only gives access to the CityLink network. To use the EastLink and CityLink networks interchangeably, you need Melbourne Pass.
