The center is located at the entrance to the Nitmiluk Gorge, the first stop before exploring. The staff will provide you with information on hiking, camping and other activities. You can also sign up for the park's various excursions and activities. Don't miss: the permanent exhibit on the history of the gorge and its inhabitants, the Jawoyn people. The museum also gives you a good overview of the local flora and fauna. At the Nitmiluk Café, you can enjoy a meal while admiring the superb view of the Nitmiluk Gorge.

Un des plus beaux parcs du Northern Territory
Le Nitmiluk National Park consiste en une série de belles gorges qui peuvent être explorées de différentes façons. Le plus simple est par des tours en bateau de différente durée qui peuvent être réservées au Nitmiluk Visitor Centre. Ces tours alternent des parties en bateaux et des courtes parties à pied, pendant lesquelles il est possible de voir de l'art rupestre aborigène et dans certains cas de se baigner. Du Visitor Centre partent aussi des promenades, assez longues, intéressantes, mais faut faire attention à la chaleur. A coté du Visitor Centre il y a un camping très confortable, visité par des wallabys et des oiseaux de tout type. L'accès est facile, par route goudronnée à partir de Katherine.
