WANGI FALLS
A superb handicap-accessible site in Litchfield National Park, distinguished by its famous waterfall.
The most famous waterfall for the publicity made by the numerous tour operators and its easy access. The superb site is very (perhaps too) well equipped. Who says well arranged says a lot of people! If you can, come as early as possible to avoid the crowd. The place is also accessible to people with reduced mobility or in wheelchairs. The water here is fresh and very clear. A sandbank in the middle allows you to relax in the sun. However, swimming is forbidden during the rainy season because crocodiles can be found there. Nevertheless, a pleasant walk, of about 1h30, allows you to go up along the waterfalls, to cross them over, then to go down on the other side. Don't forget to bring some water. Here you are in the middle of the rainforest, with butterflies, birds and even bats above you. In front of you, there can be big spiders, like the golden orb, but also rare animals like bandicoots or marsupial mice. The magnificent 8 m waterfall is very refreshing. Nearby, a cafeteria offers simple food and drinks to eat in or take away, but you can also bring your own food and drinks and sit in the picnic areas. There is a public barbecue available. You can camp, but you'll have to arrive in the morning to make sure you have a spot available.
Jolie balade au dessus de la cascade beaucoup moins fréquentée que la zone réservée a la baignade.
De nombreuses chauves souris et oiseaux à observer.
