This beach-view waterfall on Waterfall Creek is the most visited in Kakadu National Park.

Located on Waterfall Creek, one of the tributaries of the Upper Alligator River, Gunlom Falls is the only waterfall in Kakadu that is accessible without 4WD during the dry season. The road is nevertheless gravel and it is advisable to go slowly. It is the most visited waterfall in the national park, when it is open. A dispute between Parks Australia and Aboriginal landowners over the desecration of a site caused its closure for two years.

The size of the waterfall can vary with the seasons, but the view from the beach below remains beautiful year-round. Fans will recognize the spot where Crocodile Dundee spears a barramundi with an arrow. A path from the billabong, about 20 min walk through the rocks and bush, allows to reach the top of the falls, to bathe in the clear waters of the waterfall and to contemplate the southern part of Kakadu National Park. The path is marked and the climb is steep but the view from the top is breathtaking. One of the most beautiful pictures of your stay in the NT. Small waterholes make pleasant breaks to relax in the water before reaching the top of the falls. There are areas where you can picnic, or prepare the traditional barbecue. Toilets are also available.

The more adventurous will want to go to Yurmikmik, but beware, some places require an additional permit to be requested at least one week in advance on the Parks Australia website.

Very beautiful natural swimming pool at the foot of a large waterfall, is accessed by a track, it is better to bring a 4x4!
a super walk: downstairs you can discover at the foot of falls a very beautiful place

aus coloured water green and ballde until the top of the fall allows you to discover many small " piscines" and wonderful views of the aborigines
