The observatory, which was the first to be built in Australia, contains numerous historic and modern telescopes, scientific exhibits and a planetarium. It can be visited on guided evening tours. Tour slots must be booked in advance on the website. There's also a lovely walk on the lawns ofObservatory Hill.
