A small beach covering 1.25 hectares with a gazebo, a large grassy area and a beach.
Shark Island, a small harbor island with a surface area of 1.25 hectares, is located at the mouth of Rose Bay. It was used as an animal quarantine area and as a naval warehouse for 120 years, until 1975. Due to the shallow waters surrounding it, however, the island is unsafe for navigation. Today Shark Island is a lovely picnic area. It has a gazebo, a large grassy area and a beach. Reservations are required as the island can only accommodate up to 800 people.
